What information we collect - and why
To complete your purchase and deliver your order, we need your name, address, telephone number and email address. We also process, of course, the photo you upload for your painting - it is used solely to make your product.
By providing your details, you agree that we may contact you by email and/or SMS with information about your order. All processing takes place in accordance with the DSG (Swiss Data Protection Act) and the GDPR. We only collect information that you provide yourself, and only for clearly stated purposes.
Storage and deletion
Order and purchase data is kept for 5 years from the end of the financial year in which the purchase was completed, in accordance with section 10 of the Danish Bookkeeping Act - after that it is deleted. Data used for marketing is kept for a maximum of 3 years after your last activity, or for as long as you have given your consent.
Your data is stored securely with restricted access at our data processor Shopify, and all communication with our website is encrypted (SSL/TLS).
Disclosure to third parties
We never sell your data. We only share the data necessary to complete your order with our partners: the parcel carrier (DHL/UPS) receives your name, address and contact details for delivery, and the payment provider handles your payment - we never see your card details.
We also use a review platform to collect purchase and product reviews, and we pass on only the data necessary for that purpose. The platform may not use your data for any other purpose.
Newsletter
Our newsletter requires a double subscription (double opt-in): you receive a confirmation email and are only subscribed once you have clicked the link in it. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click at the bottom of any email from us - or by writing to hallo@fotoalsgemaelde.ch.
Your rights
Under the DSG and the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the information we process about you
- Rectification of incorrect or misleading information
- Erasure, where the law does not require us to keep it
- Restriction of processing and data portability
- Objection to processing, including to direct marketing
- Withdraw your consent at any time

Complaints about the purchase itself are handled as described in our terms and conditions. In the event of a dispute, please contact the Ombudsstelle Konsumentenschutz (konsumentenschutz.ch); the place of jurisdiction is Aarhus, Denmark, insofar as permitted by law.
Changes to this policy
We update this privacy policy when necessary. The date at the top of the page always shows the latest revision, and in the event of material changes we will give clear notice on the website.
