Want to have a personal painting made from your own photo? Here is how: you upload your photo, choose a size and optionally a frame, and our artist paints the subject by hand in oil on canvas. You approve the painting before it is shipped, and you have it on your wall after 2-3 weeks. The price is transparent - one fixed amount per size, floating frame and free shipping included - from 495 CHF with free shipping throughout Switzerland. Here is the whole process, step by step.
Step 1: Choose the right photo
Everything starts with a sharp photo where the subject is clear - a phone photo is perfectly good enough. We always review your photo manually before the artist starts, and we contact you if it isn't suitable. If you are in doubt, read the guide to choosing and preparing your photo - or just send us your best attempt.
Step 2: Choose a size (the price comes with it)
With us the price is always one fixed amount per size - floating frame and free shipping included. The smallest standard size is 60x40 cm = 495 CHF, the largest 100x70 cm = 1'095 CHF - and you never pay extra for the number of people, pets or the background. See the complete price guide or the size guide if you are unsure what suits your wall.
Step 3: Choose your framing (or don't)
The floating frame is included in the price - whatever the size. You choose between black, white, natural, silver or gold, and the painting is delivered ready framed, ready to hang. If you prefer the clean look without a frame, the price is the same; the canvas is gallery-stretched with painted edges.
Step 4: Order online - it takes 2 minutes
The whole order takes place online on the painting-from-a-photo page: upload your photo, choose a size and frame, and note any wishes in the cart - for example a calmer background, several photos combined into one subject or people removed. Pay securely by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. If you don't have the right photo to hand right now, you can give a gift card instead, so the recipient chooses the subject themselves.
Step 5: The artist paints - and you approve
Our artist Michael paints your subject from scratch in oil on canvas - 100% hand-painted, without AI, print or robots. Along the way you receive pictures of the finished painting and can ask for adjustments. We only ship once you have approved - and if, against expectations, you are not satisfied, we repaint it or you get your money back.
Step 6: Delivery to your door by insured parcel
From order to the painting hanging on your wall typically takes 2-3 weeks. Shipping is free throughout Switzerland with insured, trackable parcel delivery (DHL/UPS) to your door, and the painting is packed securely with protected corners. The painting arrives cleared through customs and with taxes paid (DDP) - no extra charges on delivery. 🎄 Should it be a Christmas gift? Order by 1 December - then it is painted, framed and delivered well before Christmas.
Why choose a hand-painted personal painting?
A personal painting is not a print: it is an original work of art with genuine brushstrokes, painted from exactly your photo - the wedding, the children, the pet or the place you love. It lasts for generations, and it is the kind of gift that makes the room go quiet when it is unwrapped.
