Which photos are best suited to a personal painting?
Not all photos are equally suitable. Here is what works best:
✓ Good photos
- Sharp focus on the person or people. We need to be able to see facial features
- Natural light. Sunshine or daylight through a window
- Close to the subject. Not from 10 metres away
- High resolution (ideally 2-3 MB or more)
- Natural expressions. A smile and a natural gaze capture the person better than stiff poses
✗ Less suitable photos
- Blurred or pixelated pictures
- Heavy shadow across the faces
- People furthest away in the background
- Heavy filters or editing that alter the facial features
- Black-and-white photos where you can't see skin tone
Tip: If you send several photos of the same person, we can often combine them. For example, taking the face from one photo and the pose from another. Send them all, and we will assess them.

How much time should I allow?
2-3 weeks from order to delivery is our standard. That means:
- Day 0: You upload your photo and order (5 min)
- Day 1-2: We screen the photo and put an artist on the job
- Day 3-7: The painting is painted by hand (oil painting on canvas)
- Day 8-10: Drying + framing
- Day 11-21: Packing and insured, trackable shipping to your door

You receive a genuine hand-painted oil painting - not a print on canvas with a watercolour filter. You can see the brushstrokes when you stand close.
You approve before it ships
We send a photo of the finished painting before we pack it. If you aren't 100% happy, we adjust it free of charge. Or you get your money back.
Framing is included
The floating frame is included in the price - whatever the size. Choose between a floating frame in black, white, natural, silver or gold, and the painting arrives ready to hang. You don't need to find a local framer yourself.
Delivery without a hitch
We pack the painting in a hard foam case so that it isn't damaged in transit. It is delivered duty paid, so there are no extra charges on delivery. If it should arrive damaged, we will send a new one free of charge straight away.

Frequently asked questions
Can I give it as a gift without the recipient knowing I've ordered it?
Yes. We send a discreet package with nothing that gives away the sender. You receive the painting yourself first, so you can hand it over in person.
What if the photo isn't perfect?
We assess the photo before we begin. If the quality is too low for a good result, we contact you and suggest alternatives (for example a different photo). No surprises.
Can I change anything from the photo in the painting?
Yes. It is one of the things customers ask for most often:
- Remove the background and replace it with a plain colour/landscape
- Combine people from different photos into one painting
- Add loved ones who have passed away and didn't make it into the family photos
- Change clothes or hair colour (minor adjustments)

Can I have it delivered directly to the recipient?
Yes. At checkout you can enter a delivery address that differs from the billing address. We ship without an invoice in the package if you ask us to in the comments.
